The short version
- Thalam can send email from your Gmail. It cannot read your inbox.
- We don't sell your data or your leads' data.
- You can export your data and close your account any time.
Gmail
When you connect Gmail, Thalam asks Google for one permission: to send email as you. It cannot read, search, change or delete anything in your mailbox, and it cannot see your contacts. We also get your Google account email address, only to show you which account is connected.
Your connection token is encrypted before we store it and is never shown or exported. Disconnecting Gmail in Settings deletes it.
Thalam's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Gmail access only to send the emails you approve, and not for advertising or AI training.
What we store
- Your account details and Settings (name, email, signature, calendar link, phone).
- Your leads, sequences, templates and snippets.
- A record of messages sent through Thalam, so you can see your send history.
- A small internal log of account events (what happened, who did it, when) for security.
Who runs Thalam for us
Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Clerk (sign-in) and Sentry (error monitoring). They process data only to run Thalam. No Thalam staff read your email content unless you ask for support, it's needed to investigate abuse or security, or the law requires it.
Your data and deletion
- Export: download everything from Settings any time. The export never includes your Gmail token.
- Close your account: from Settings. Access stops immediately and your data is permanently deleted after 14 days, including your sign-in account.
- Changed your mind? Email reactivate@thalamapp.com within those 14 days and we can reactivate it.
- Not removed:the internal event log above, and a short rolling database history kept for recovery (never longer than 30 days). We don't restore deleted accounts from backups, so export first if you may want your data later.
Unsubscribe
Every email sent through Thalam includes a one-click unsubscribe link for the recipient. No account is needed. People who unsubscribe are not contacted again on that channel.
